Susan Kavanagh

As a Senior Discovery Consultant for KLDiscovery, Susan consults with clients on best practices and services related to eDiscovery, Data Privacy and Data Security at the multi-national level. She is a subject matter expert in eDiscovery, litigation readiness and is an evangelist for the advancement of technology in the legal profession.

With 20 years of experience in the legal services and legal technology industry, her experience extends to overseeing all aspects of litigation, providing legal technology services, and consulting with a variety of clients on best practices related to eDiscovery, data security and data management, with an emphasis on litigation readiness. She has a broad background of legal and eDiscovery experience and skills that uniquely position her to provide insight into the challenges faced by the end-users of eDiscovery services and technology and the organizations serving them. She has extensive expertise in developing cross organizational information management strategies for compliance, large litigation and investigations. She has managed the eDiscovery Lifecycle on the national and international level. Susan maintains a strong understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), HIPPA, PCI, audit and investigations, has compliance knowledge in banking, pharma, healthcare and insurance and is very savvy with the RFP/RFI and InfoSecurity process.

Susan’s processes and workflows positioned her as a two-time (2017 & 2018) nominee for TechRochester’s Technology Woman of the Year and was named the April 2018 Democrat and Chronicle “Woman to Watch”.

Susan has made it her mission to continue the growth of the technology industry by mentoring college students and young professionals who wish to pursue a career in legal technology. She has demonstrated a passion for educating, advocating and promoting women in the adoption of technology, for her entire career.
